Manoj Bajpayee reveals his mother Geeta Devi asked for poison so that she could die and not be a burden on her kids
Manoj Bajpayee delivered a compelling performance in his recent film Joram, which premiered earlier this month, portraying a character described as 'the voice of voiceless'. He disclosed that he drew inspiration from personal experiences within his own family to embody the role authentically. Reflecting on his family dynamics, Manoj shared an insight into his family history, particularly highlighting the time when his mother expressed a desire to end her life. In an interview with Zoom, The Family Man star recounted, "I have witnessed this within my own family. My father didn't have a voice. Amongst us six siblings, if you ask any of them, they'd confirm the same thing. My mother was the dominant figure. Even during her final days, she remained fiercely self-reliant. She abhorred relying on others and, at one point, she asked my sister for poison to end her life because she detested being reliant on her children. That was the upbringing in my family." Manoj's mother, Geeta Devi, passed away in 2022 due to age-related ailments. The Gangs Of Vasseypur actor made headlines recently after sharing his thoughts on "The Archies," a movie featuring Suhana Khan, Agastya Nanda, Khushi Kapoor, and others in their debuts. He mentioned that both he and his daughter didn't find the film appealing.
His last outing Joram released after Animal was cold at the box office, however, it got raving reviews from the critics.
